MTSUÕs sports apparel stadium store will be under new
management — in a matter of speaking.
Beginning in July, LightningÕs Locker Room will be run
by local company IdeasTees in partnership with the MTSU athletic department and
Nelligan Sports Marketing, the exclusive marketing rights holder for Blue
Raider sports.
LightningÕs
Locker Room was previously operated by MTSUÕs PhillipÕs Bookstore.
ÒWe
have been pleased with all that has happened with LightningÕs Locker Room, but
with growth and the demand fans have for Blue Raider gear and other accessories
we believe this move will be beneficial,Ó MTSU athletic director Chris Massaro
said. ÒIt will provide our fans more merchandise on a weekly basis with a local
company serving us, and they will have more consistent working hours.Ó
Currently
located at gate 2 of Floyd Stadium, LightningÕs Locker Room will have numerous
satellite locations on gameday at the stadium, including the Greenland Drive
and Walnut Grove areas, under IdeasTees management.
The management
move is intended to increase access for MTSU fans to Blue Raider merchandise.
IdeasTees owner John Brockwell will run LightningÕs Locker Room.
IdeasTees,
whose showroom is located at 910 Ridgley Rd. Suite B, will also handle MTSU
online store, MTSUTees.com.
Fans will be able to place orders
online and receive merchandise quicker due to local inventory, especially in
the case of souvenir T-shirts if MTSU wins a conference championship. Gameday
T-shirts also will be available throughout the year.
